MEXICO CITY -- The central Bank of Mexico (Banxico) decided on Thursday to raise the key benchmark interest rate for the eleventh straight time, amid fears of further effects from increasing inflation and uncertainty about the local economy.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Six people were injured in a mass shooting at an Oakland public school, in the western U.S. state of California, the San Francisco Bay Area city's police chief said Thursday.

STOCKHOLM -- Tests will be carried out on an electric cable between Sweden and Poland to see if it has been damaged by one of the Nord Stream pipelines explosions, Swedish grid operator Svenska Kraftnat said on Thursday.

MAPUTO -- At least 11 people were killed and another 17 injured following a car accident that took place in the Tsangano district, Mozambique's western province of Tete, Thursday, the country's national radio station Radio Mozambique reported.
